🌱 plants rock 🌵
At BUCK, we made an AR experience that is a garden in your pocket! It worked with Google's ARCore Geospatial API and allowed you to view something in AR in the same place you left it in the world. The game mechanic was that if you planted a garden and you watered it everyday, then you would see the plants grow and evolve over time. I was responsible for modeling and texturing all of the plants. You can check out more behind the scenes here.
I was responsible for converting some really beautiful 2D designs into 3D assets that had to be carefully optimized to look great and also run at frame rate given that the tech was a little extra taxing on the hardware than a traditional AR experience. I used ZBrush, Maya and Substance Painter. I thought it was fun to export out glTF files so I could run my dailies meetings in 3D. It allowed the Design team to give feedback even faster and more precisely.
